Iranian short to compete at Australia fest

‘Vacant Room’, the first short film of Seyed Ali Qasemi, has been selected to compete at the 2019 Phoenix Film Festival Melbourne in Australia.

Also written by Qasemi, the short’s synopsis reads “when you find out something that you should not, your life becomes a disaster”.

The cast of the short includes Leila Zare, Karim Amini, Shokoufe Hashemian, Pantea Mehdinia, Ali Gholami, Pante Mirfasihi and Parshang Bahrami.

The fest celebrates films of artistic merit and scope. It allows independent filmmakers, actors, and scriptwriters to showcase their works.
